NEW JAMS

Dam-Funk is an LA based collectro/dj/musician deep in the boogie scene. Stone's Throw recently put out his first release and its a monster. The b-side Galactic Fun is my favorite cut, and the title couldn't be more descriptive - a mid-tempo cosmic boogie jam with real lo-fi drum sounds and a killer synth line. Everything here is played by Dam, no loops. Not going to post up the tracks here - go buy it at TTL or Stone's Throw. Check out his inverview in Waxpoetics #28 to get schooled on some rare boogie/funk records, including this, one of my all time favs.

Pink & Black - Sometimes I Wish

I don't know much about Pink & Black, but they're from the UK and this was released on Illuminated Records in 1984. I first heard this track on Michael Goodstien's highly reccomended show Choking On Cufflinks for WFMU radio. Took me awhile to track down the 12" for a decent price on ebay. Its a little beat up but sounds ok. This isn't from my copy. I'm going to start posting my own rips when I get a new needle, so for now enjoy the radio edit. The "Dreamdance USA" mix is the real jam.
